The Treaty of Duluth, 1850
Article 1
Her Brittanic Majesty of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Governments of the United States of America and the Province of Canada, and the Governor and Company of Adventurers of England trading into Hudson's Bay acknowledge the Duchy of Frostbite Falls to be a free sovereign and independent state, that they treat it as such, and for themselves, their heirs, and successors, relinquish all claims to the government, propriety, and territorial rights of the same and every part thereof, and guarantee the integrity of its borders.
Article 2
The Duchy of Frostbite Falls shall be comprised of all contiguous lands held in deed by Wayne Duke on January 1, 1845. All other lands owned by him shall become the property of the nation in which they are located. Her Britannic Majesty and the People of the United States acknowledge the independence of Frostbite Falls from the aforementioned date, as organized under Duke Wayne, and absolve Frostbite Falls from all debt and legal action arising in accordance to their previous jurisdiction from that date forward.
Article 3
It is agreed that the people of the Duchy of Frostbite Falls shall continue to enjoy unmolested the right to take fish of every kind on the Lake of the Woods and on all the other banks where the inhabitants of both countries used at any time heretofore to fish.
Article 4
Measures concerning the international relations of the Duchy shall be the sole concern of the Dukes of Frostbite Falls. In order to foster international understanding and harmony, diplomats and ambassadors shall be received by the Duchy for consultation and advice.
Article 5
Her Grace the Duchess of Frostbite Falls recognizes for herself, her heirs and her successors that the land known as Moosylvania falls within her sovereign territory and outside the realms of the United States and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Article 6
The People of the United States and Her Brittanic Majesty recognize and support the Duchy of Frostbite Falls as an absolute monarchy, vested in Duke Wayne, his wife and their heirs; shall make no effort to aid or endorse the overthrow of the hereditary government; and at the request of Her Grace the Duchess, send military and naval aid to assist in the suppression of insurrection.
